Our method

How we rank, and what we refuse to score.

A ranking you can’t interrogate isn’t worth much. Here are the criteria, what each is weighted at, and, just as importantly, the things we leave out because the data to support them doesn’t exist.

The criteria

Scored for someone comparing bootcamps, weighted to 100%.

  1. Total cost to complete

    Tuition is only part of the cost. Flights, accommodation, living expenses, and other costs can significantly change what you actually pay, which is why comparing the full cost of studying abroad matters.

  2. In-person versus online

    Most bootcamps today are online-only. The real choice is often between an immersive in-person experience and remote learning, with self-paced formats typically seeing lower completion rates.

  3. Cost of living

    The real cost of studying abroad goes beyond tuition. Accommodation, food, transport, and everyday expenses can significantly change what you actually spend.

  4. Reviews and accreditation

    We prioritize verified third-party reviews and recognized accreditations — including Course Report, SwitchUp, Trustpilot, BCS Tech10, and RNCP Level 6 — over claims made by schools themselves.

  5. Curriculum currency

    We look at how current the curriculum really is, including whether AI is integrated throughout the learning experience or simply added as a standalone module. In a fast-moving industry, outdated content is a meaningful signal.

  6. Cohort diversity

    An international cohort gives you the opportunity to build a network across different countries and backgrounds — something a primarily domestic bootcamp may not offer.

  7. Course breadth

    Whether you can choose from multiple specialized tracks within one school, or are limited to whatever single subject a bootcamp offers.

What we don’t score

Job placement rate

We don’t weight it. Placement figures across this industry are self-reported, measured over inconsistent windows, and rarely audited. Where a school publishes global outcomes we’ll cite them as global, with a link to the source, but we won’t convert a global figure into a claim about a specific campus.

Salary outcomes

Same reason, plus salary depends far more on your prior career and local market than on which bootcamp you attended.

Anything a school paid us to say

Our commercial relationship is disclosed on every page. It determines who we can introduce you to, never where a school sits in this table, or what we write about its weak points.

Where the data comes from

  • Ratings and review counts from Course Report and SwitchUp, captured August 2026 and refreshed periodically.
  • Tuition and durations from each school’s published pricing. Schools change both without notice, always confirm before you pay.
  • Flight times and indicative airfares are illustrative estimates only. They are not quotes.
  • AUD figures are converted from published USD prices at a rate we set manually and review regularly. Treat them as indicative.
